Lake Mason Homestead

We recognise and acknowledge Aboriginal people as the Traditional Owners of Lake Mason Conservation Park.

Once a cattle station, Lake Mason is a 149,557ha reserve situated 50km north of Sandstone.

About this campground

The landscape has a gently undulating terrain with an extensive salt lake system in the centre. There are several breakaways and low hills to the west and north. 

The area around Lake Mason Homestead offers opportunities for bird watching, bushwalking and camping. Simple facilities and barbecues have been provided and although untreated water is provided by a bore it is always advisable to bring your own drinking water.

Camping fees and bookings

Lake Mason Homestead is non-bookable.
No fees for camping.

Non-bookable campgrounds operate on a first come, first served basis. Be aware that this campground may get busy, especially during weekends and holidays. Identify alternative accommodation in case there are no campsites available when you arrive.

Entry to Lake Mason Conservation Park is free.
