Terms and Conditions
- Competition Name
Explore Parks E‑Newsletter Subscriber Competition (the Competition).
- Promoter
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) (Parks and Visitor Services Branch (PVS)), 17 Dick Perry Ave, Kensington, Western Australia 6151 (the Promotor).
- Competition Period
3.1 The Competition opens at 9:00am AWST on Thursday, 19 March 2026, and closes at 4:00pm AWST on Sunday, 22 March 2026 (the Promotional Period).
3.2 Entries received outside the Promotional Period are ineligible.
- Eligibility
4.1 Entry is free and no purchase is necessary.
4.2 Entry is open to individuals aged 18 years or over, attending the Perth Caravan and Camping Show at Claremont Showground, as at the start of the Promotional Period.
4.3 Entry is limited to Western Australian residents.
4.4 Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of DBCA and its agencies directly involved in the administration of this Competition are ineligible.
4.5 Entry is limited to one entry per individual. A public body, company, association or body of persons, corporate or unincorporated, are not eligible to enter.
- How to Enter
5.1 During the Promotional Period, entrants must subscribe to the Explore Parks e‑newsletter by providing a valid email address (and any other required fields) via the QR code/link displayed at the Promoter’s stand.
5.2 Each unique, valid subscription equals one (1) entry. Duplicate or multiple entries using the same email address may be deemed invalid.
5.3 Entrants must consent to receive the Explore Parks e‑newsletter. Entrants may unsubscribe at any time.
5.4 Incomplete, indecipherable, or invalid entries may be disqualified at the Promoter’s discretion.
- Prizes
6.1 There are 10 prize packs.
6.2 Each prize pack includes:
- One (1) All Parks Pass for Western Australia (standard pass; valid for 12 months from activation; may exclude some sites, including Mitchell River National Park, where separate fees apply; and will be subject to the All Parks Pass terms published by DBCA at the time of redemption); and
- Three (3) nights camping at a DBCA managed campground of the winner’s choice, subject to availability, usual campground booking processes, seasonal/park closures, site-specific rules and fees that are ordinarily applicable but waived only to the extent expressly stated in these T&Cs.
6.3 Approximate retail value (ARV): up to $190 (incl. GST, if applicable). Total ARV: $190.
6.4 Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash. If any element is unavailable, the Promoter may substitute a reasonably equivalent item at its discretion.
6.5 Winners are responsible for all ancillary costs, including but not limited to travel, equipment, food, and any additional park/camping fees not expressly covered by the prize.
6.6 Camping bookings must be made 2 months (by 17 May 2026) of winner notification and taken 31 December 2026 or the prize may be forfeited. Booking date exclusions may apply (e.g., peak periods, total fire ban days, emergency closures).
- Draw Details
7.1 Ten winners will be selected via random digital draw within 7 days of the close of the Promotional Period.
7.2 The Promoter may undertake additional random digital draws if the an entry in the initial winning draw is ineligible or do not respond to the notification of the winner in accordance with 8.1 below.
7.3 The Promoter’s decision on the Draw Details is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
8. Conditions of Prize Use
8.1 Winners will be notified by email with instruction on who to contact to book a campsite and how to order an All Parks Pass.
All Parks Pass:
8.2 Issued by DBCA; subject to pass terms/conditions (including presentation of the pass on entry; exclusions may apply to certain attractions/parks)
Camping:
8.3 Winners must book using the contact details provided in the email notifying them of their prize.
8.4 Availability is not guaranteed - winners are encouraged to book early and have alternate dates/campgrounds in mind. Camping can be booked up to 180 days in advance.
8.5 All campsite bookings are subject to campsite booking Terms and Conditions.
- Disqualification
9.1 The Promoter reserves the right to verify eligibility and to disqualify entries that are (or appear to be) incomplete, fabricated, automated, fraudulent, or otherwise non‑compliant with these T&Cs.
9.2 The Promoter may, at its sole discretion, cancel, suspend, or modify the Competition if technical or operational issues materially affect the integrity of the Competition.
- Liability
10.1 Neither the Promoter nor the State shall be liable (in negligence or howsoever) and no entrant shall bring or allege or allow to be brought any claim, proceedings, action, demand, lawsuit or cause of action on account of any loss of property (including income, revenue, out- of-pocket expenses), damage to property or personal injury (including death or illness) suffered or incurred by any entrant in connection or associated with or on account of this Competition or participation in any Prize related activity. Without limiting the previous sentence, it (the previous sentence) applies even if for whatever reason whatsoever:
a. an entrant has not been able to submit a valid entry on time;
b. a winner has not received or used their prize.
10.2 Nothing in these T&Cs limits any rights the entrant may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- Privacy
11.1 The Promoter collects personal information to administer the Competition and to add entrants to the Explore Parks e‑newsletter mailing list.
11.2 Personal information will be handled in accordance with the DBCA Privacy Policy https://www.dbca.wa.gov.au/about-us/legislation/corporate-policies and the WA privacy and recordkeeping obligations that apply to the Promoter.
11.3 The Promoter may use a third‑party email service provider to manage communications; data may be stored in Australia or overseas in accordance with applicable law and government policy
11.4 Entrants can unsubscribe from the e‑newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link in emails or by contacting touring.wa@dbca.wa.gov.au. Requests to access or correct personal information can be directed to privacy@dbca.wa.gov.au.
- Acknowledgements
12.1 This Competition is conducted by the Promotor.
12.2 The Caravan & Camping Show organisers are not sponsors or administrators of this Competition and bear no responsibility for its conduct.
12.3 The Promoter is solely responsible for the Competition and the awarding of prizes.
- General Conditions
13.1 Entry into the Competition constitutes acceptance of these T&Cs.
13.2 These T&Cs are governed by the laws of Western Australia..
13.3 If any provision of these T&Cs is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
13.4 The Promoter may amend, suspend, or cancel these T&Cs where reasonably necessary to address errors or changes in law, provided no such change materially disadvantages entrants after entries have been received.
