Hangover Bay

Site access

The site has approximately 270m of concrete walkways plus an additional 75m long loop walkway. These provide barrier free access to the picnic facilities, toilets and beach lookout.

All of the access paths, picnic facilities and toilets are wheelchair accessible. Access to one of the picnic pavilions is via a short wheelchair accessible concrete ramp or alternatively a set of 3 steps. There are two ways of accessing the beach lookout, one of which is wheelchair accessible.

The bay/beach lookout is situated approximately 70m from nearest parking bay and 35m from closest picnic pavilion. Access is either via a compacted limestone path, or alternatively a concrete path with a series of 12 steps. The compacted limestone path has a max gradient of 4.5° (mainly less than 3°) and is wheelchair accessible.

From the lookout, there is a 1.2m wide compacted limestone path leading some 20m to the back edge of the beach. The soft sand beach has some weed and a slight cross slope and is not wheelchair accessible.

Parking

The bitumen parking area has a total of 42 car bays (including the 2 designated accessible bays). There are 4 longer (11m by 3.5m) bays for motorhomes and 5 parallel parking bays (30m by 3m) for buses and/or caravans.

The 5 parallel bays have a 15cm high curb while all the other bays do not have curbs.

Toilets

Toilets are available.
  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Unisex

The toilet is close to the carpark with access via a wide concrete path.

A unisex wheelchair accessible toilet is located 20m from the nearest parking bay. Access is via a wide concrete path with a max gradient of less than 1°
