Marvellous makeover among the wildflowers
Wildflower season is almost here and it’s the perfect time to start planning your next camping adventure.
Why not check out Meelyu Campground in Karara Rangeland Park?
Imagine falling asleep beneath a blanket of stars surrounded by everlastings! At Meelyu Campground, recent upgrades mean you’ll enjoy clearly defined campsite areas, enclosed fire and BBQ pits and long drop toilets.
The campground was named after the endangered meelyu (spiny-tailed skink) that calls this area home. The deadwood is its habitat, and it is critical that this is not disturbed or used for firewood.
We proudly jointly manage the campground with the Badimia Traditional Owners, who welcome you in local language on new orientation signage. We are continuing to improve this area and even more cultural, flora and fauna interpretation is on the way to help you connect with the area’s rich values.
Camping fees apply and campsites are chosen on arrival – first in, first served! Book before you at go parkstay.dbca.wa.gov.au.
