About this park
Jurien Bay Marine Park covers the marine waters between Wedge and Green Head and extends about 5.5km offshore. A long limestone reef runs parallel to the shore making it a perfect spot to swim, dive, snorkel and kayak. You’ll be glad you did!
Oh, and did we mention the fishing? You can catch dhufish, snapper, baldchin groper and whiting! Please check marine park zones and bag limits before you go.
Launch your boat at Jurien Bay, Greenhead and Cervantes and explore offshore islands and sheltered lagoons. The reef overlaps warm tropical waters to the north and cool waters from the south. The landscape and conditions are home to an unusual mix of marine plants and animals with cold water species and warm water species swimming together. The offshore island nature reserves are important breeding areas for seabirds including; fairy terns and osprey.
Did you know Jurien Bay Marine Park has the only breeding area for Australian sea lions on the west coast of Australia? These sea lions are the rarest in the world. You may see one if you’re lucky! Learn more about being Seal Wise. Marine parks protect our precious plants and animals below the waterline. Come and see for yourself at Jurien Bay Marine Park.
Review - I shall return, it’s a nice spot.
Stopped by for a look and stroll and realised I would like to go snorkel this spot. Nice beach access and the water looks inviting and interesting for a snorkel. Some nice barbies up on the forefront to picnic at. Peaceful place I plan to return to. Stephen O - Trip Advisor
