Site access

Lookout access

There is a winding bitumen path leading from the northern edge of the parking area to a small timber lookout structure some 65m downhill of the parking area. This lookout provides spectacular views of the beach and peninsula. Wheelchair access to this lookout requires assistance.

Access onto the lookout deck is via a short timber ramp or alternatively two steps. The timber lookout is 4.8m long by 2m wide, with a 95cm high timber safety railing. Where the sealed path joins the ramp onto the lookout viewing deck, there is a 70mm high lip/step which limits wheelchair access.

Beach access

There are two paths that lead from the car park down to Salmon Holes beach. These are quite long and steep and require a reasonable degree of fitness to negotiate. The northern access path continues past the lookout down to a tall wooden staircase. It is sealed bitumen, with some drainage bumps, to begin with. Near the staircase the path is compacted gravel.

The path from the southern end of the parking area also leads down to a tall staircase.

Parking

The parking area is sealed and can accommodate wheelchair users. There are 12 car bays; although no bays have been designated/signposted as accessible. The parking area does offer some coastal views, but the Salmon Holes beach is not visible from this vantage point.

Toilets

No toilets at this location. Follow Leave No Trace principles.

The nearest accessible toilet is located at Frenchman Bay (approximately 3.6km by road).
