We recognise and acknowledge Wardandi people as the Traditional Owners of Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.

A small campground set in the Boranup Forest with only seven campsites, suitable for tents and small campervans only.

About this campground

Boranup is a small, shady campground contained on the edge of the Boranup karri forest.

Booking

Bookings are essential for stays and can be made up to 180 days (approximately six months) before arrival and for one campsite only.

If you are an outdoor education provider, licensed commercial tour operator or are organising an event (friends, family and other social groups camping together does not constitute an event), contact Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park Information Centre (Calgardup) to discuss your requirements.

Campsites

Seven campsites with a compacted earth surface (some sloping) that vary significantly due to the forest setting.

All campsites have a picnic table and benches and a fire ring.

All campsites are unpowered.

Facilities

No-flush pit toilets.

Campground Rules

Campfires when conditions permit and in the provided fire rings only. Usual permitted season: April - November. Check current campfire conditions.

Chopped firewood may be available. Bring your own in case none is available. Check current restrictions on the movement of wood, including firewood. Collecting firewood and kindling is not permitted in national parks and other conservation reserves

No dogs or other domestic animals.

Generator use is not permitted.

Do not empty waste from portable toilets into campground toilets. Carry waste out of the park for disposal in an authorised dump point.

Fees

A per person camping fee applies. There is no vehicle entry fee for Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.

Camping fee must be paid by Mastercard or VISA when booking.

A fee may apply if you cancel or remove dates from a booking. Stricter conditions apply for peak periods. Current and upcoming peak periods for Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park are:

Safety information

Drinking water is not provided.

No-flush pit toilets are the only personal hygiene facility.

December to April can be extremely hot and the risk of bushfire can be very high.

Nights can be cold from June to September.

Storms are common between May and October throughout WA.

Ensure you have sufficient supplies (including water, food, fuel, medication and first aid), and equipment and clothing appropriate for the conditions before travelling.

Western Shield - The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions undertakes 1080 baiting at this location to reduce the impacts of feral cats and foxes on native wildlife. 

Meat baits containing 1080 poison are laid in or around this area on an ongoing basis. 1080 is poisonous to humans and will kill domestic cats and dogs. Pets are not permitted in this park.
