About this place

Irwin Inlet is a tranquil location to take a break in your travels and enjoy a picnic by the water. The sand spit at the mouth of the inlet is popular with fishermen from Peaceful Bay by four-wheel drive access along the beach. Wet your fishing line but you must have a Recreational Fishing Licence which you can purchase online from Fisheries. Bag limits apply.

Try scenic saltwater paddling to the inlet mouth along narrow channels or row up the Kent or Bow river.

Location

Australia's South West

Getting there

Turn onto Peaceful Bay Road from South Coast Highway. Either put-in at Bow River (turn left onto dirt track a short distance from the highway, then turn left again - the water is deep) or at roadside picnic area about 5km from highway - the inlet is very shallow here.

Park boundaries are approximations only and should not be used for navigation or orientation purposes.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Government of Western Australia acknowledges the traditional owners throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
