About this place
Mount Matilda is located 12km north-west of Wongan Hills and is the highest peak within the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu.
Walk trails start at the trailhead/picnic shelter near the parking area and progress up the rocky stairs onto the flat hill of Mount Matilda. It is recommended to bear left and follow the loop in a clockwise direction.
Rest and enjoy views from nine lookouts and pause at the information panels describing a selection of the flora, fauna and scenic views and highlighting some of the notable flora.
Allow at least three hours for the full 7.3km circuit following yellow markers with a thorny devil symbol or choose the shorter 4.8km Wildflower Trail following yellow markers with a malleefowl symbol.
