Greater Beedelup National Park

Greater Beedelup National Park takes its name from Beedelup Brook. Beedelup is thought to come from the Nyoongar Aboriginal word Beedja. It means ‘place of rest’ or ‘place of sleep’.

Walk in the grandeur of the karri forest. Karri trees only grow in this part of the world. These impressive giants can grow up to 90m high. You’ll feel tiny in comparison as you walk beneath the towering canopy.

Don’t miss Beedelup Falls, yes, this park has its very own waterfall! Enjoy them in full flow during Winter and Spring. The falls cascade 100m over granite rocks and give the area its damp and misty charm. The boardwalk and suspension bridge offer delightful views of torrents of tumbling water. The sight of water rushing centimetres below your feet is exhilarating! 

The misty dampness of the falls creates perfect conditions for mosses and swamp peppermint. Myrtle wattle and lemon-scented darwinia perfume the air. They love the damp too! 

This is a beautiful area for bushwalking and enjoying nature. The park’s damp beauty may have you misty eyed. And the pretty waterfall may get you welling up. But all in a good way!

The Karri Forest Explorer drive trail takes you through the park and this 85km journey includes many of the surrounding attractions.
