We recognise and acknowledge Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi people as the traditional owners of Millstream Chichester National Park.

This campground is set in bush close to Millstream Creek and pools that attract wildlife.

About this campground

Miliyanha is a medium-size campground close to the Millstream Homestead Visitor Centre.

Booking

Bookings are essential and can be made up to 180 days (approximately six months) before arrival and for one campsite only.

If you are an outdoor education provider, licensed commercial tour operator or are organising an event (friends, family and other social groups camping together does not constitute an event), contact Parks and Wildlife Service Pilbara Region HQ (Karratha) to discuss your requirements.

Campsites

Twenty-seven compacted gravel surface campsites of varying sizes in six named areas. Generators are permitted in some areas only, and some areas are closed during periods of low demand.

All campsites are unpowered.

Check campsite details and the campground map carefully when booking.

Facilities

Drinking water is not provided. Untreated water may be available but supply is not guaranteed and treatment is required to make safe for consumption.

No-flush pit toilets.

Sheltered food preparation area with gas barbecue, dishwashing sink and food preparation surfaces.

Sheltered picnic tables and benches.

Campground Rules

No campfires at any time.

Dogs are not permitted.

Generator use is permitted at all campsites between 8am-8pm only.

Do not empty chemical toilet waste into campground toilets. Carry waste out of the park for disposal in an authorised dump point.

Carry all waste out of the park. No bins provided.

Fees

A per person camping fee and a per vehicle park entry fee apply.

Camping fee must be paid by Mastercard or VISA when booking.

Vehicle entry fee may be paid when booking, on arrival at Millstream Chichester National Park or by purchasing a park pass and is required for motor vehicles only. Payment is not required for trailers, including camper trailers and caravans.

Safety information

Drinking water is not provided.

No-flush pit toilets are the only personal hygiene facility.

November to April is tropical cyclone season.

December to April can be very hot.

Storms are common between May and October throughout WA.

Millstream Chichester National Park is in very remote Australia.

Ensure you have sufficient supplies (including water, food, fuel, medication and first aid), and equipment and clothing appropriate for the conditions before travelling.

Site access

The campsites are linked to the toilets and campers picnic area via the gravel loop road and a network of internal formed gravel paths with gradients from level to 4 degrees. Access throughout the campground is barrier-free. Some paths are narrow and have some loose stones. The campsite closest to the campers’ picnic area is 100m.

There are two unisex toilets. The closest campsite is located 60m from one of the toilets and 30m from the nearest parking bay. Most campsites are within 150m of a toilet. Access through the campground is generally barrier-free. Some of the internal paths are narrow and winding and have some loose stones.

Getting there

173km from Karratha, 274km from Tom Price, 56km from Pannawonica, 282 km from Karijini National Park.

Access includes unsealed roads suitable for 2WD and AWD vehicles but road conditions can be variable and caution is advised.
