Trails

Bush Walk
5.1 kilometres

The Gorge Rim Walk and Dales Gorge Walk Trails create a 5.1km loop trail in the Karijini National Park. The Gorge Rim Walk follows the rim of Dales Gorge all the way to Three Ways and Circular Pool Lookouts, before descending into the gorge.  From here follow the Dales Gorge Trail to Fortescue Falls and Fern Pool before climbing back up to the Fortescue Falls car park.

Bush Walk
1 kilometre

This is a dramatic gorge, full of colour texture and reflections and a great spot for a swim. Hamersley Gorge is in the north-west of Karijini, further afield than the other gorges. Swirls of rock sweep down through the gorge and waterfalls rush into tranquil pools. There have been improvements to the site including sealed road access to the lower car park, a new constructed lookout, toilet and various infrastructure items.

Bush Walk
1.5 kilometres

For the fit and adventurous the Hancock Gorge Trail is one of the most spectacular short trails in Western Australia.  Whilst it’s a short 400 metres return,  suggested time to take on this trail is 80 minutes which gives a clue to its Class 5 level.

Bush Walk
1.5 kilometres

The 1.5km return Handrail Pool trail in Weano Gorge starts as a fairly easy walk but becomes quite challenging with climbing involved to get down into Handrail Pool including steep cliffs and narrow walking passages.  Be prepared to get wet and see Australia’s beauty at its best.

Bush Walk
200 metres

This easy 15 minute return walk takes you to the truly spectacular Knox Gorge Lookout.  Sunset or sunrise is a great time to view this awesome landscape.

Bush Walk
9 kilometres

The 9km return Mount Bruce Summit Trail is located in the Karijini National Park and allows great opportunities to view the surrounding Hamersley Range and Marandoo mining operations. This Grade 5 moderately steep trail follows a clearly marked path along the ridge of the mountain with a couple of challenging rocky climbs to negotiate.

Bush Walk
800 metres

Starting at the Weano day use area, the 800 metre walk trail between Oxer and Junction Pool lookout is not to be missed. Many consider the view from Oxers Lookout to be one of the most spectacular sights in WA if not Australia. The walk trail over the plateau barely prepares you for the gaping hole that lays ahead.

Bush Walk
4.6 kilometres

The Honey Hakea Track is a Grade 3, 4.6km return trail following the same path as the Mount Bruce Summit Trail. The trail provides views down into the Marandoo iron ore mining operations and stunning views of the surrounding Hamersley Ranges.
