3.2 kilometres

This 3.2 kilometre loop walk follows part of the Lol Gray trail, taking in heathlands of banksia, woolly bush and pea flowers.

See the diverse vegetation types and enjoy spectacular views over Dryandra near the old Lol Gray tree fire tower, which was built in 1930 and used by the Forest Department as a lookout for fires.  This 12.5km loop walk is one of the longer walk trails in the area.

6 kilometres

The six kilometre, approximately two-hour, Lake Pollard loop trail conveniently begins at the entrance to the Martins Tank campground; about one kilometre from the campground itself. This walk takes in tuart, peppermint and grasstree outcrops, with an opportunity to birdwatch in the hide overlooking Lake Pollard.  Walking in a clockwise direction provides a good view to Lake Pollard while walking.

This two kilometre return trail takes you around the edge of Lake Preston to a viewing platform at the water’s edge which allows you to see some of the waterbirds that visit the area.

Lake Thetis Loop Trail is an easy, 1.5km walk around the shores of Lake Thetis. It is one of only a few places in the world with living marine thrombolites, or ‘Living fossils’. The first 300m of boardwalk, which passes the best examples of thrombolites in the lake, is universally accessible.

An easy five kilometre loop walk running parallel to the eastern shore of Lake Clifton. The vegetation consists of paperbarks, melaleucas, peppermints and tuarts. Thrombolites can be seen at the start of the walk.

Venture into wild forest on this 5km moderate walk trail linking the Boorara Tree recreation site with Lane Poole Falls.  Wander towards through mixed karri and marri forest which changes to riverine vegetation as you descend into the Canterbury River valley.

Set amid the karri forest about eight kilometres south of Pemberton, these rocky rapids and surrounds provide a place for an outdoor lunch, a leisurely afternoon stroll, or a few peaceful hours of fly fishing.

Len Otte Nature Trail is a moderately easy two kilometre loop walk in Cape Arid National Park. This nature trail was designed and established in 1979 by Len Otte, the first resident ranger at Cape Arid National Park.  It was the first nature trail in any Western Australian national park and following his unexpected death, was dedicated as a fitting tribute to Len’s achievements and life at the park.

Lesmurdie Brook Loop is a family friendly 1.5 kilometre trail in Mundy Regional Park in the Perth Hills.

Lesmurdie Falls located in the Mundy Regional Park in the hills east of Perth, is one of the more spectacular waterfalls on the Darling Range escarpment. There are a number of walk trails you can explore from here depending on the time you have, your level of fitness and the degree of difficulty you choose.

The Lesueur Trail is 3.5 km return and takes past some interesting land formations to the summit of Mt Lesueur in the Lesueur NP. This walk showcases an abundance of wildflowers in spring, many of them unique to the area. You will be rewarded with spectacular views all the way to the Indian Ocean from the summit of the trail.

This is an easy six kilometre flat walk in Beeliar Regional Park. The path is paved for two kilometres and then there is a limestone and sand four wheel drive track around Lake Mt Brown. Firewood banksia makes a showy display in autumn.

This trail crosses from brown mallet plantation to kwongan heath and back offering great opportunities for spotting birds, echidnas and beautiful dryandras. It is an easy 3.3km return walk ideal for families.

The multi-use Kep Track uses the rail formation between Mundaring in the Perth Hills, to Northam, east of Perth.  The trail can take anywhere from a one to two hour walk, a bush outing for you and your horse, or a cycle adventure of several days.

The King Jarrah Walk Trail is a strenuous 18km loop that winds through the scenic Murray River Valley. Once a transportation route of a vibrant timber industry, hikers can now immerse themselves in the jarrah forest, enjoy tranquil river views, and marvel at the 'King Jarrah', a majestic 250-year-old tree.

Located in Walyunga National Park, this six kilometre moderate trail follows the river upstream to Syd’s Rapids before heading up a steep gravel track.  This area was burnt a few years ago and now has a thick understory of regrowth with the burnt eucalypt trunks visible above.  It intersects with the Echidna and Kangaroo trails.

The moderately difficult Kitty’s Gorge walk trail is located in Serpentine NP. The trail is 7km each way or 14 km return and can be accessed from either end. There are some steep sections with loose stones, uneven and slippery ground.
