Trails

Tantabiddi Sanctuary Zone Kayak Trail

Paddle

Tantabiddi Sanctuary Zone Kayak Trail is one of four trails in the Ningaloo Marine Park with designated buoys for kayaks to tie off on while snorkelling the reef. Each buoy is located near a particular feature of the reef system.  A 1.4km paddle (about 30 minutes) west north-west from the boat ramp to the sanctuary zone will take you to two kayak moorings within the Tantabiddi Sanctuary Zone. Snorkel the sites and return to the boat ramp.

Yardie Gorge Trail

Bush Walk
2 kilometres

Yardie Gorge Trail is a two-kilometre walk overlooking the ancient Yardie Creek gorge. With amazing views of red limestone cliff faces and the opportunity to see a wonderful array of birds and wildlife, including the rare black-footed wallaby, euros and red kangaroos. From the top, the views into the creek and out to the Ningaloo Reef are purely spectacular.

Bundegi Sanctuary Kayak Trail

Paddle

Bundegi Sanctuary Zone Kayak Trail is one of four trails at Ningaloo with designated buoys for kayaks to tie off on while snorkelling the reef. Each buoy is located near a particular feature of the reef system.  This is the only kayak trail site on the Exmouth Gulf side of the cape. Plan your trip around the high tide.  On this trail in the later part of the Ningaloo season (August - September), paddlers may encounter humpback whales and manta rays in the Exmouth Gulf.

Mandu Mandu Walk

Bush Walk
3 kilometres

The Mandu Mandu walk is an excellent three kilometre loop trail that leads along the gorge rim then descends into the gorge. It is steep in sections so a reasonable degree of fitness is required.  Go early in theday when it’s cooler and you’ll have good chance of spotting some rock wallabies.

Osprey Sanctuary Zone Kayak Trail

Paddle

Osprey Sanctuary Zone Kayak Trail is one of four trails in the Ningaloo Marine Park with designated buoys for kayaks to tie off on while snorkelling the reef. Each buoy is located near a particular feature of the reef system.  A 1.1km paddle south-west across to the inside of the reef will take you to the first of two kayak moorings within Osprey Sanctuary Zone. A further paddle south another 500 metres along the inside of the reef leads to the second kayak mooring. Return by paddling to the north east along the shore to the Osprey small-boat launch area.
